Design Intentions:
The prospect of the 21st Century, brings a renewed hope for peaceful cooperation between nations and people; a new millennium where science, culture and the Arts may flourish.  This proposal for the Kansai-Kan envisions a beautiful machine for the storing and retrieving of information, designed for the comfort of it’s staff and users, and for maximum efficiency and flexibility.  Ancient Japanese traditions are continued in the serene lake, bordering cherry tree arbor and bamboo groves.  The Kansai-Kan symbolizes man's search for the essential truths about himself, and his role in the Universe.

This project was completed in two weeks.  The 3D Model was quite complex.  Hi-Rez renderings were created for submission of large prints.  The cherry trees were 3D models of trees creating a very  large 3D data.  Over 2,500 entries were submitted from around the world. We survived into the third round.  The winning teams were Japanese architectural firms.
